Day By Day : A Week of Creating Daily
but also getting out of my sketchbook!
Hello Hello!
Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful mums out there! I’m so lucky to consider mine my best friend and get to work with her everyday as well!💚 By the time you will have read this I will have hopefully already spoiled her with a surprise and a day of goodies that she doesn’t have to make!
(I wrote this before my internet decided to go out for Sunday/Monday/Tuesday and I never got to post whoops!)
Going to change it up today and do a day by day recap starting this past Monday!
I’ve slacked a bit on sharing here I feel like so before we get into the main point of the post, I thought I would share a spread I did do and actually liked quite a bit. I did birds as practice for a painting I was working on and then the lil scenes were done with some left over paint from the said paintings, and a few other supplies.

Day 72 | Monday
The start of the week was a busy one making products for my shop and shipping things out so I went with simple and quick in my sketchbook. Truly it would have been easy to skip it all together because of being so busy so I’m just happy I kept with it.
Day 73 | Tuesday
Shown above, I just expanded on Day 72 and did some super flowers using my Tombows in a color palette that is certainly not normal go to. It came out pretty cute though!
Day 74 | Wednesday
I actually had time on Wednesday for art and I wanted to work on something I started a few weekends ago so I decided to take a sketchbook break and work on my mini painting that I started of a Junonia Shell.
I liked the underpainting a lot so I was a bit hesitant to continue on but it was a lot of fun and I’m enjoying where it’s at at the moment. Still need to decide on a Background, or maybe forgo the background and let the underpainting have a moment?
All in all it was fun, the music was good and I was enjoying painting.
Day 75 & 76 | Thursday & Friday
Things got busy again in the Studio and I didn’t make it to my sketchbook on Thursday. 👀 I ended up doing both on Friday in a lil lull in time. It was David Attenborough’s Birthday and everyone was sharing so many wonderful quotes online and some just needed to live in my sketchbook!
I had some in my phone Notes from when I read his most recent book earlier this year, which I highly recommend!
Day 77 & 78 | The Weekend!
The weekend was filled with some much needed rain, but that meant darker skies SO not the best light for art. I had lots of printing and things to do on Saturday and then Sunday was Mothers Day so I tried to keep everything short and easy. Which has been the theme lately it seems! I’m actually loving the idea of a bouquet of Seashells instead of flowers!
That covers the week. Not a ton of amazing spreads, but I’m really happy with the shell I painted. I feel like the Junonia Shell has shown up in so many spreads throughout the 100 Day Project and it was only fitting that it ended up as something more. :) Excited to decide on the Background and then frame it.
I’ve been wanting to do more and more original paintings this year, and I’m glad this has kinda pushed me to doing just that!
Hope you enjoyed this mediocre update.😂 I feel like these are kinda nice and reassuring that not every week looks like fabulous art, and that’s ok. You never know what will come of them in the future either so that’s cool.
Sea You Soon!
