🖌Week 4 of Spending Time With My Sketchbook (or did I?)
This week has a bit of a twist but still daily soooo lets take a peek!
Hello Hello!
Hope you had a wonderful week! It was a busy week in my studio but this ended up meaning I kinda ditched all the prompts this week, and kinda left my sketchbook, but creativity WAS at the forefront and daily art was made soooo! Also I didn’t write this week as it was going like I did for the past weeks sooo… All sorts of different but hopefully its still fun to follow!
In case you missed the start of this here, is a quick lil behind the scenes of what I’m up to….
Last month I was SUPER busy and one of the first things to “go” was my daily sketchbook time! So since this is the MONTH of all Challenges, I thought why not try to get back in my sketchbook daily and share it here on Substack?
So that’s what I’m doing with daily check ins and then a written post each Sunday as a full look at the week! 🙂
I’m not particularly following a prompt list but if I find myself not knowing what to do I’m liking the looks of Peachtober, and Mosstober lists for ideas!
✨Day 20
Mondays are always “busy” days. They are the day of errands, the day of getting weekend orders to the post office or UPS. So while I couldn’t sit down to create I was thinking and revisiting pages in my sketchbook.
Earlier this year I started playing with clay, and have had the idea to create some 3D art, and possibly sculpt my own ornaments this year which should be releasing in November.
So over the past so many months I have sketched ideas on how to paint these, so I revisited those pages and organized my clay bits that are ready for paint.

✨Day 21
Today I organized all of my already existing clay pieces into a caboodle and started to paint a few of the pieces that were test shapes! I really wanted to see if these ideas would work, as well as test out my sealant so I needed to get something painted.
It all started with this one! This day I also had a lot of work to be done so I didn’t get much past this one.
✨Day 22
I got another shape out and painted a lil something to become a pin so I could seal multiple things at once.
The really neat things is that both of the things I’ve been painting this week have been inspired my a sketchbook page from earlier this year that eventually went on to becoming a recipe card for my shop!
So this is just a great reminder of how important it is to make time for your sketchbook!
This day I also tested another idea but I am not quite ready to share pic of it yet. 🙂
✨Day 23
Sealant test day + a busy work day so no photos from this part of the creative process.
✨Day 24
Turns out the results were pretty good and I did feel ok continuing painting knowing I had a solid way to seal the art! SO I started a set of related things. :) Had to get a solid base down to work on so I didn’t get to the super detailed parts yet but progress is being made!
✨Day 25
Finally made it to doodling in my sketchbook! I didn’t really find time to paint today, because I was tending to my printer, but I got some fun sketching done for a new project!
✨Week Recap✨
Even though this week was super not normal for the challenge I was doing this month I think it was super successful and proves why I should always keep a sketchbook.
The current sketchbook I am in is almost finished and it will be one of my first complete sketchbooks, which I think is super neat! The biggest thing tho, is how much it helped my creativity and how many ideas came from the random-est of pages.
I do fear because I am so close to finishing it feels weird, kinda like how when you are rewatching your favorite show that has ended but you can’t bring yourself to rewatch the finale, or the final season. You know what I mean? No, maybe that’s just me?! But that’s how I’m feeling with only 14 pages left.👀
